Position Title:
Account Manager
Office Location: Appleton, WI
Reports to: Director of Sales
Status: Full-time/Exempt

Role:
The Account Manager is responsible for identifying, qualifying and converting industrial manufactures and OEMs into long-term customers by selling automation and electrical control products manufactured by PCC’s vendor partners.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on leads generated by marketing programs in an attempt to secure new business.
  • Manage existing account business, target and grow additional opportunities therein.
  • Effective use of phone and email to create interest in PCC and gain entry into an account to introduce PCC and present solutions.
  • Leverage internal resources (e.g. application engineers, management team) to properly position and demonstrate PCC’s value proposition and convert business.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge base of the products offered by PCC and their applications by attending formal training and performing self-training.
  • Document all sales activity by entering information into PCC’s CRM software application.
  • Exhibit professional behavior including leadership, communications skills, sense of urgency, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creativity, and personal integrity.
  • Meet/exceed sales quota established via mutual business plan.

Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of industrial automation and electrical control sales experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of the application of industrial automation (e.g. PLC & Distributed I/O, Motion Control, Variable Frequency Drives, HMI) and industrial control (e.g. circuit breakers, motor/soft starters, relays, contactors) is preferred.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is desired however other engineering degrees such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering will be seriously considered.

Language Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Must be able to communicate effectively with client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of resources.  This includes making presentations, facilitating meetings, and presenting timely reports.

Reasoning Ability:
Individual should be able to exercise sound judgment, be able to plan, be well organized, have excellent oral and written communication skills, work well under pressure, take initiative, and be flexible and cooperative.

Physical Demands:
Travel via a car is expected approximately 30-50% of the time. Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of demonstration equipment is required.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products is required – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Work Environment:
Normal office environment and standard hours with occasional overtime required.  Out of office work at customer’s facility is required however overnight travel is at a minimum.  From time to time Sales Engineers will attend product training which will require out of state travel and overnight stay.
